G'MIC4Mac — A macOS Frontend for G'MIC
A macOS frontend for G'MIC's 1189+ image-processing filters — fast preview, filter chains, batch processing, and a clean interface built for Apple Silicon.
Overview
G'MIC is a full-featured open-source framework for digital image processing, handling everything from simple photo retouching to advanced multi-image compositing. G'MIC4Mac wraps it in a macOS frontend: b¨Browse, search, and preview 1189+ filters with live feedback, chain multiple filters into reusable "Recipes," and batch-process whole folders of images — no command line required.
G'MIC4Mac Features
- 1189+ G'MIC filters, browsable and searchable, with Favorites and Recent lists

- Every numeric filter parameter gets a slider paired with a number field — drag to explore, type for precision
- Recipe Builder — chain multiple filters into a named, reusable sequence; drag to reorder steps, and manage your whole library from one dialog with search, rename, and step counts
- Multi-image filters — montage, blend, and other filters that combine several photos into one
- Batch processing — apply a filter or recipe across many images at once, with your choice of output: in-memory, a fixed or chosen folder, overwrite originals, or save alongside each source
- Before/After comparison in four modes — draggable curtain (vertical or horizontal), side-by-side, or a quick toggle to the original
- 20-step undo/redo, plus one-click Reset to Original for any image
- Drag-and-drop loading with a reorderable image thumbnail strip
- EXIF metadata preserved through the entire editing pipeline, powered by the bundled ExifTool
- Read and write PNG, JPEG, BMP, TIFF, WebP, and HEIC
- A real native macOS save dialog — Finder sidebar, Recents, iCloud Drive, and Tags — with format and compression quality built right in
- Quick Export presets — one click to Web (JPEG), WebP, Full Res (TIFF), Mobile (PNG 2×), Preview (PNG 50%), or HEIC, straight to your chosen output folder
- Copy, save, or export exactly what you see — an active preview comes along, no need to apply first
- Interface based on Qt — dark mode support, keyboard shortcuts, nothing to install or configure
Getting Started
- Request G'MIC4Mac download link (see below)
- Install G'MIC4Mac
- Load one or more images — drag and drop, or File > Open
- Search or browse filters, adjust parameters with sliders, and Preview
- Apply — to one image, or to several at once with batch processing
- Chain multiple filters together with the Recipe Builder for repeatable looks
- Export or save — pick your format and quality, and your camera's metadata comes along for the ride
